The Kandy Kids app
Chat with Kandy, and when your Kandy Kids doll arrives, use the app to talk through the doll, switch on its projector eyes, change its lights and peek through its camera.

Installing on Android
- Open this page on the Android phone or tablet and tap Download for Android.
- Open the downloaded file. If Android asks, let your browser install unknown apps, then tap Install. Android may say the app is not from the Play Store: that is expected while the app is in early access.
- Open Kandy Kids. Chat works straight away. To use a doll, type the doll's address on the Connect screen. The doll shows its address when it joins your Wi-Fi.
What the app sends, and where
- Chat: what is typed in the chat, the names you add under Known Users, short notes from recent chats and the doll's sensor readings (like light and temperature) go to our server and on to Anthropic's Claude, which writes Kandy's replies.
- Kandy's voice: each reply is sent to a speech service (ElevenLabs or OpenAI) to be read aloud.
- Not kept by us: our server passes these along and does not save the chats. The chat history and notes stay on the phone.
- The doll: the camera, sensors, lights and projector are controlled over your home Wi-Fi. Camera pictures go from the doll to the phone and are not sent to us.
- No accounts: the app does not ask for an email, a login or a payment.
